BIM! – it’s in the bag, with Winterhalter

Winterhalter's BIM model for the PT-LWinterhalter has made BIM models of all its products, which are available for free to consultants, designers and operators.  Fully compatible with standard BIM software packages, the Winterhalter models include all relevant data to make the specifier’s life easier.  Winterhalter is working with FCSI, CESA and CEDA to determine industry standards for BIM in the future.

“Moving over to BIM will ultimately make everyone’s life easier – but right now it’s a steep learning curve for the industry,” says Paul Crowley, marketing manager of Winterhalter UK.  “By producing BIM blocks this early, we’re trying to help make the whole process as painless as possible.”

Once the Winterhalter block is dropped into the kitchen design, it can be accessed to list all relevant data, such as power, water and waste, to help design the services and utilities.  It includes all the information that a facilities management company may require.

Winterhalter will be updating its BIM library as new machines and accessories are launched – for example, the new energy-saving PT passthrough series are already available as BIM blocks.

Winterhalter’s BIM models are available on request from the company.  A new website is currently in development, where BIM blocks will be available to download.
