Speed, quality, ease of use, fewer breakages: Winterhalter UC wins praise at José Pizarro Broadgate
The latest José Pizarro restaurant is in the new Broadgate Circle development, just behind Liverpool Street station. It serves lively, seasonal and contemporary twists on Spanish classics and, as with all José’s restaurants, it offers a relaxed, buzzy, atmosphere with the real flavour of Spain. “The food here is like nothing customers have tasted before,” says José. “I’ve drawn on my years of experience and added some surprising new ideas on top.” (more…)
Winterhalter at The Main Event, LACA conference and exhibition
Hilton Birmingham Metropole, 8th-10th July 2015
Innovative systems mean the latest warewasher from market leader Winterhalter is faster and saves energy compared to conventional models, yet it delivers the best ever cleaning results. With speed, running costs and quality being essential when it comes to warewashing in schools, the award-winning Winterhalter PT Series of passthrough warewashers is sure to impress at this year’s LACA Main Event.
Visitors to the Winterhalter stand will be able to see specially designed exhibition version of the PT machine, which illustrates exactly how the patented full-flow filtration system works to constantly keep the wash water fresh and clean. (more…)
Award is accolade for company’s radical energy-saving warewash technologies
Winterhalter has won the prestigious FCSI award for Manufacturer of the Year. The award was announced at the FCSI EAME (Europe, Africa, Middle East) conference in Madrid. Judges singled out the company’s energy-efficient PT Series of passthrough warewashers, including the latest model, the ClimatePlus, which not only reduces energy consumption by over 50%, but also acts as a climate controller, pumping cool air into kitchens when the ambient temperature rises above 25°C. Winterhalter’s PT Series just got better – new rack system doubles capacity to halve operating costs
Winterhalter’s PT Series passthrough warewashers are the market leaders when it comes to cleaning results, speed and efficiency. Now, Winterhalter has developed a double-rack system for the PT Series allowing two racks of dirty items to be washed simultaneously. This doubles the wash capacity and halves the operating costs, while ensuring the brilliant cleaning results expected of a Winterhalter wash. (more…)
Winterhalter’s new passthrough warewashers deliver huge time-savings
Winterhalter’s latest PT series of passthrough warewashers has new systems that make them extra fast, cutting wash times and increasing capacity.
The EnergyLight system reduces the time needed to heat up the rinse water by 26%, by continuously pre-heating the incoming water supply. At the same time it cuts running costs, because it uses the energy in the machine’s wastewater to heat the inlet water, via a heat exchanger.
Meanwhile the PT has a clever way of managing the energy which reduces the cleaning time for each wash cycle, increasing the rack capacity by up to 28% per hour. It does this by channelling the power available to whichever component of the warewasher needs it most at that given point in time. (more…)
Winterhalters are ‘Rolls Royce’ warewashers for Michel Roux Jr
Le Gavroche recently re-opened after a total kitchen refurbishment, carried out by Eximius Projects. “The kitchen is sparkling and shiny and beautiful now, so it’s full speed ahead,” says Michel Roux Jr. To help keep things sparkling and shiny, and to help ensure service goes at full speed, three new Winterhalter warewashers have joined the kitchen’s brigade.
The dishwasher at Le Gavroche is one of Winterhalter’s new PT passthrough machines. “Crockery and cutlery needs to be treated with the utmost respect, especially in the environment of a two Michelin star, fine dining restaurant, where only the best is good enough,” says Michel. “You need to know that everything is going to come out pristine, and it certainly does with the Winterhalter.”
The quality of the wash is not only a result of Winterhalter’s advanced technologies, but also because the dishwasher can be finely tuned to match the local conditions of the restaurant. “An engineer installs the machines and checks everything, such as the water hardness and what type of ware you are washing,” says Michel. “He can make sure you get the best out of the machine, and that’s very important.” (more…)
Popular Knightsbridge hotel gets latest Winterhalter technology
In 2013 the Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel, London, installed its first Winterhalter dishwasher, one of the new PT passthrough machines. The warewasher was part of a competition prize won by one of the hotel’s kitchen porters, Bartek Malek, when he became KP of the Year 2013. Executive Chef Simon Young has been very impressed. “The PT is working all day, every day, from 6am to 3am, and the results are consistently excellent,” he says. (more…)
Winterhalter adds super energy saving model to PT Series warewashers
Winterhalter’s PT Series is causing a sensation in the dishwashing world, in terms of economy of energy use and brilliance of wash. Its energy-saving heat exchange technology, fitted as standard, extracts energy from the waste water, using it to heat up the incoming cold water supply, reducing energy costs by up to 10%. Not content to stop there, Winterhalter has introduced the PT Energy Plus, which further reduces operating costs by up to 20% per wash cycle.
The EnergyPlus is equipped with a large waste water and additional exhaust air heat exchanger. It uses the energy from the waste water and the steam for two-step heating of the incoming cold water supply. This not only reduces operating costs but, as the emission of steam is reduced by more than half, the warewash area is far less humid and additional extraction hoods may be unnecessary. (more…)
Cleaner, Meaner, Greener Warewashing Machine: Winterhalter Launches Hybrid Concept
Stand 1736, Hotelympia 2014, ExCeL London, 28th April – 1st May
Winterhalter will launch a brand new undercounter warewasher, the DeMatik, at Hotelympia 2014. Most of the details are still under wraps, but the essential feature is an integral hybrid water treatment system that delivers close to reverse-osmosis (RO) standards of cleaning, but uses much less water than traditional RO systems.
“RO is widely recognised as the best way to get pure water and great cleaning results,” says Stephen Kinkead, managing director of Winterhalter UK. “However, a key issue is that the reverse osmosis process means up to 60% of the mains water is wasted. Our new DeMatik warewasher has an integral treatment system that part-demineralises the water. It gives outstanding cleaning results, but uses a fraction of the water compared to reverse osmosis.
“It’s a cleaner, meaner, greener warewashing machine.” (more…)
Winterhalter spotlights latest warewashing technology at Casual Dining 2014
Stand U531, BDC London 26-27 February
Clever technology means the latest warewasher from market leader Winterhalter is faster and saves energy compared to conventional models. Yet it delivers the best ever cleaning results. The new PT Series pass through machine will be on stand U531 at Casual Dining, where visitors will be able to check out its advanced features.
Speedy turnaround is of the essence in the casual dining sector. The PT Series has an energy control system that speeds up the washing process, increasing rack capacity per hour by 28% and reducing heat-up time by 50%. It works by making best use of the available power – for example, by prioritising heating of water, it ensures the boiler has maximum power when it needs it. However, in standby mode it allows the boiler temperature to reduce to minimise energy consumption. The speed of the system means the PT is ready for action faster than conventional passthroughs, allowing back-to-back rack washing, which will be a huge bonus for busy kitchens in peak times. (more…)
