Variety of refrigeration manufacturer’s range helps designers maximise chilled storage
The Taiwanese and Chinese street food-inspired restaurant chain BAO gets rave reviews. Its latest venue is in Windmill Street, Fitzrovia, just off Tottenham Court Road, seats 47 and, if its established Soho site is anything to go by, there will be queues of eager eaters stretching down the road – a result of BAO’s outstanding dishes, low prices and ‘no-booking’ policy.
BAO specialises in ‘guabao’ which are Taiwanese steamed buns, as well as ‘xiao chi’ or small eats. A family owned business, the BAO story began with a six-seater bar and stall in Netil Market a few years back. “We opened our first restaurant in Soho in April 2015,” says Shing Tat Chung, co-founder. “Now we have this new venue in Fitzrovia. It’s an exciting time for us.”
Precision Refrigeration shows off retro-themed, ultra-cool cabinet
Stand GE49, London Olympia, 3rd-5th October 2016
Visitors to the Restaurant Show can go back to the future with Precision’s ultra-cool Retro Refrigeration.
The Retro Refrigeration cabinet combines attractive, fifties-inspired style with the latest in modern technology to create an energy efficient, high performance refrigerator that will add designer class wherever it’s sited.
Precision’s high-performance space-saver
Precision says its HSS 340 prep counter packs a punch. It’s built to the USA standard of 48” (1220mm) wide but, despite its compact size, it’s a real heavyweight when it comes to performance and construction. With pressure on kitchen space getting ever tighter, the company says the two-door HSS340 offers the perfect space-saving solution.
Rocketing sales lead British refrigeration manufacturer to triple production capacity
Thetford-based Precision Refrigeration, which manufactures commercial refrigeration for the foodservice industry, has expanded its manufacturing plant with the acquisition of an adjoining building. The move will ultimately add 14,000 square feet of production and warehouse space.
Precision’s new preparation stations combine looks, function and brains
Precision’s new prep stations have great looks, an ultra-practical design and a very clever control system that minimises energy use. Designed for the preparation of foods like tapas, salads, sandwiches, desserts and pizza, the prep stations’ banks of wells use a curtain of air system to hold and protect ingredients all day long.
As kitchen space gets ever more pressurised, chefs are looking for innovative ways to fit their quarts into pint pots. Now British manufacturer Precision has launched new versions of its wall cabinet range of fridges. They increase storage space without having any impact on the kitchen footprint – because they make use of ‘dead’ space, on the wall.
The latest versions feature Precision’s new oversized digital display, for easy monitoring and precise temperature control, a stylish new grill that delivers better airflow, flush door handles, and the new iCool Controller. This not only adjusts performance to minimise energy use, but also learns how the operator works to predict usage and ensure the refrigeration system runs as efficiently as possible.
Tim Davis brings wealth of expertise and experience to ‘dynamic’ British manufacturer
Tim Davis has joined Precision Refrigeration as UK sales director. Amongst the UK’s most experienced commercial refrigeration professionals, Tim’s previous roles include head of the UK sales operation for Hoshizaki and regional sales director at Williams.
“Tim has been in foodservice refrigeration for his whole career and brings us a wealth of expertise and experience,” says Nick Williams, managing director of Precision. “He’s very well known in the market, having dealt with customers at every level, and is an achiever, with a record of sales growth wherever he has been. We’re delighted to have attracted him to the Precision team.”
It’s a freezer, or a fridge, in a drawer
British manufacturer Precision has launched a new self-contained refrigerated drawer that the company claims is the most energy efficient on the market – and the most economic to buy.
The drawer, model VSS 121, is part of the Space Saver range and is designed to be as versatile as possible. Its fire-rated worktop means cooking equipment such as a grill can be mounted on top of a single unit. Alternatively, two drawers can be stacked to save space and create a work-level countertop. The drawer’s temperature range is from +15°C to – 22°C, meaning it can be used for every refrigerated storage application. It can be switched from refrigerator to freezer at the touch of a button.
The drawer will hold up to 4 GN1/1 pans and measures 1100mm(w) x 200mm(d) x 285mm(h).
