Hubbard’s new multifunctional, space-saving Ice Duo
The latest Ice Duo bundle from Hubbard Systems is the ideal multifunctional, space-saving ice maker, says the company. That’s because it has a compact footprint yet delivers a choice of different ice types that can meet the needs of just about every application in busy hotels, restaurants, bars and clubs.
The Ice Duo sits two different modular ice machines onto a single ice storage bin. Each machine can produce different types of ice – the bin’s storage compartment has a divider wall that keeps them separate.
Precision’s Retro Refrigeration takes fifties styling and adds up to the minute technology for a whole new concept – and it’s available in any colour
Precision’s new Retro Refrigeration cabinet takes its inspiration from the fifties and adds the latest energy efficient components to produce a modern, high performance refrigerator that will be the focal point of any front of house area, bar or kitchen. It makes a statement, with heavy-duty hinges and large handles adding to the retro feel. It’s stand-out refrigeration at its best.
Like all Precision refrigeration, the new cabinet is both extremely stylish and eminently practical. It has an attractive metal exterior finish with a clear, wipe clean coating to keep it looking smart at all times. Plus it’s available in any colour the customer wants – Precision can paint the finish to match a site’s décor if the RAL number is supplied.
British manufacturer applauds ‘one stop BIM shop’
British refrigeration manufacturer Precision has joined the CESABIM database. Dealers, designers and consultants will find all the company’s products listed there, ready for download in IFC format and fully compatible with all major BIM software packages.
“We recently completed a significant upgrade on our products and wanted to ensure the CESABIM database had all the very latest information,” says Nick Williams, managing director of Precision. “We are very supportive of the CESABIM initiative – having a ‘one stop BIM shop’ for catering equipment has to be helpful for designers and specifiers.”
Different finishes on Moffat’s chilled merchandiser enhance display
At the heart of any grab and go or self-service operation are open-fronted chilled merchandisers. Not only are these essential for displaying food and drinks safely and attractively, but they also encourage customer up-take and minimise wastage.
Moffat has designed a range of stylish chilled merchandisers with stainless steel, wood effect or colour finishes that compliment an establishment’s décor at the same time as enhancing the display and maintaining food quality.
As kitchen space gets ever more pressurised, chefs are looking for innovative ways to fit their quarts into pint pots. Now British manufacturer Precision has launched new versions of its wall cabinet range of fridges. They increase storage space without having any impact on the kitchen footprint – because they make use of ‘dead’ space, on the wall.
The latest versions feature Precision’s new oversized digital display, for easy monitoring and precise temperature control, a stylish new grill that delivers better airflow, flush door handles, and the new iCool Controller. This not only adjusts performance to minimise energy use, but also learns how the operator works to predict usage and ensure the refrigeration system runs as efficiently as possible.
It’s a freezer, or a fridge, in a drawer
British manufacturer Precision has launched a new self-contained refrigerated drawer that the company claims is the most energy efficient on the market – and the most economic to buy.
The drawer, model VSS 121, is part of the Space Saver range and is designed to be as versatile as possible. Its fire-rated worktop means cooking equipment such as a grill can be mounted on top of a single unit. Alternatively, two drawers can be stacked to save space and create a work-level countertop. The drawer’s temperature range is from +15°C to – 22°C, meaning it can be used for every refrigerated storage application. It can be switched from refrigerator to freezer at the touch of a button.
The drawer will hold up to 4 GN1/1 pans and measures 1100mm(w) x 200mm(d) x 285mm(h).

Peachman overcomes kitchen space issues with mix of True cabinets at Little Plumstead Primary School, Norfolk
When Little Plumstead School in Norfolk was selecting the refrigeration for its new kitchen two key buying criteria were critical: capacity and longevity. “That’s why we went for True,” says Daniel Ridd, project manager with Peachman, the company that installed the kitchen. “Their wide range of model sizes gave us maximum flexibility in terms of capacity. At the same time, they are known for reliability – for us, True’s five year warranty on compressors was the decision clincher.”
