Tough decision for gin

Utopia’s new Moda toughened gin glass – stylish and practical

Gin’s dominance in the drinks market marches inexorably on. Bartender innovation and the rise of artisan distillers using wild-harvested, organically grown botanicals have fuelled its dominance. It’s a clean fresh product, a great choice for most bars as it can be simply sloshed into a tonic, served with ice and slice – it never fails.

However it needs to be served in a decent glass and one that isn’t easily broken. In answer, Utopia has launched the new Moda 20oz (568cl) toughened gin globe to provide a classy serve in a glass that offers optimum strength, durability and safety. The Moda gin globe adds style and flair with no compromise on practicality.

Moda is crafted using fully toughened glass. This is glass that has been treated so the surface is compressed to balance tension in the glass core. The compression makes the glass strong and much more resistant to breakage than none-toughened glass. When toughened glass does break, it will break into small fragments making it impossible to cause serious lacerations. It’s the safest option to prevent injury and reduce breakages in busy venues.

“It’s very difficult to make a gin globe out of toughened glass,” says Kathryn Oldershaw, marketing director at Utopia. “And with gin being such a popular drink we expect this Moda glass to be a big seller across the board.”
