Moffat’s stylish copper laminate counters transform new dining area at West London school

Nottinghill and Ealing High School is an independent day school for girls aged 4-18. Located in West London, it has over 850 pupils. In a recent refurbishment of the kitchen and preparation areas Old Ford Catering Equipment specified E & R Moffat to supply and fit the servery area and some of the fabrication in the kitchen and prep area.

“We chose Moffat because we needed a company we could trust and rely on,” said Martin Sharp of Old Ford. “We know we get good service from Moffat and they would be able to meet our deadlines.”

The remit of the refurbishment was to modernise the facilities in the dining area, servery, prep area and kitchen. The kitchen was redesigned and existing equipment moved to fit with the new additions and changes in working practices brought about by increasing pupil numbers.

Moffat supplied fabrication, sinks, cupboards and countering. The servery area has a stylish shaped counter that both accommodates existing pillars and increases frontage. The warm-toned copper laminate front panels match in with a free standing circular salad bar. There is also a theatre cooking station with a wok area to increase pupil choice.

“We hadn’t specified copper laminate before,” said Sharp. “But Moffat fitted it exactly as required and it looks fantastic, matches in perfectly with the new chairs and tables.”

Heavy duty Corian tops with an integrated tray run are fitted throughout the servery area for a unified, seamless look. They also have smooth rounded edges for ease of cleaning and pupil safety.  Ingredient wells with overhead heated gantries and display cabinets all maximise serving space, and menu options, without cluttering the overall appearance.

For further flexibility Moffat also supplied mobile serving counters that can be wheeled away after use.
