Hubbard Systems has launched the new Scotsman MXG range of modular machines, the latest to make the famous thimble-shaped Scotsman gourmet Supercube.
The MXG range combines productivity, reliability and ease-of-use, with aesthetic appeal and quieter operation. There are six models in the range, with outputs from 150 to 410kg per day. All models are designed to fit on a global standard footprint for easy installation. The gourmet Supercube is the obvious selection for the presentation of classic on-the-rocks drinks – it lasts longest, looks the best and chills without diluting.
Hubbard believes it is the first ice machine supplier to be 100% BIM-compliant
Hubbard Systems has made Revit BIM files available for all Scotsman’s ice machines and accessories. The company believes it is the only icemaker supplier to be 100% BIM compliant.
“We know how important it is for designers, consultants and specifiers to have the right tools for the job,” says Simon Aspin, commercial director of Hubbard Systems. “Operators are increasingly looking for specialist ice equipment, to make specific types of ice – be that nugget, gourmet cube, dice, flake or whatever. So it’s vital that anyone putting together a BIM-based project can put in the right equipment models. That’s why we’ve taken the step to produce files for the entire Scotsman range.
“We believe Scotsman is the only brand of ice machine to have all its models available in BIM format.”
When presentation is vital, supercubes look the part

Scotsman Prodigy undercounter icemakers: dice ice at its best, all the time
Competition is tough in the pub, bar and nightclub circuit with venues striving for new ways to attract customers. Service has to be fast, drinks have to perfect – there’s no room for errors. The back bar area needs to look clean and stylish while at the same time being a functional and pleasant place to work.
With today’s move towards cocktails, both conventional and exotic, and emphasis on finding exciting twists for presenting non-alcoholic drinks, bar managers are finding that they increasingly need a steady supply of high quality ice. Scotsman integral Prodigy icemakers, available in the UK from Hubbard Systems, are designed to keep busy bars stocked up with ice without creating any extra work for staff.
New Ice Tower 56 capable of producing ice non-stop all day
With the demand for ice increasing across the catering and hospitality industries, and trends like self-dispensing “bottomless drinks” sweeping the fast food and family dining sectors, operators are looking for reliable and economical sources of large amounts of ice. However, as pressure on space continues, they also need ice machines that are as compact as possible.
To help meet this demand, Hubbard Systems has launched the Scotsman Ice Tower 56, which is capable of producing 485kg of high-quality nugget ice in a 24 hour period. What’s more, the machine is an undercounter unit, measuring just 539mm(w) X 664mm(d) X 720mm(h), with a counter top dispenser.
FEM launches Manitowoc’s new Sotto range of icemakers
Manitowoc’s new Sotto range of undercounter ice machines has a redesigned refrigeration system that delivers up to 43% more ice, compared to previous models. It means even sites with limited backbar space can have plenty of quality ice on tap, right where it’s needed. Since the machine is front venting, it needs no top or side clearance, so it can be fitted into the most compact of spaces. Manitowoc icemakers are marketed by FEM (Foodservice Equipment Marketing) and the Sotto range is available through distributors nationwide. (more…)
