Moffat’s drop-in displays for service of hot or cold food
As well as preserving food quality, display units in serving areas need to look smart and show food at its best to encourage customer take-up. Moffat has covered all these issues with its Deluxe range of drop-in food serveries. The individual units are delivered ready to drop into shop-fitted service counters, custom-built breakfast bars or buffets.
The Deluxe range includes both chilled and heated units: a bains marie with enviro well, hot top displays, a chilled well and chilled displays. All are designed to add style and visual appeal to the service area with curved corners, bright polished stainless steel supports and gantries, and internal illumination.
Stunning counters from Moffat provide centrepiece for refurbished schools’ new dining rooms
Red Maids School in Bristol is the oldest independent girls’ school in the country. With a history spanning nearly four centuries, the school has built a reputation as one of the best in the UK. The current building dates from the 1840s, and a comprehensive modernisation program was completed recently, including a complete refurbishment of the dining hall.
“The main building is 120 years old, and was obviously not originally designed as a modern school,” says bursar Peter Taylor. “We took the opportunity to change as much as possible to optimise the space for pupils and staff”.
In order to maximise the available space it became apparent that bespoke server counters would be required. “We had to create the design for the server counters long before the building to put them in was finished!” says Peter. (more…)

Strathcarron is a hospice covering Central Scotland – a huge area with a population of around 400,000. It provides specialist palliative care for 1,200 terminally ill patients, most of whom stay in their own homes, with about 400 coming into the hospice ward each year and 100 people a week coming in for day care. The main kitchen does all the cooking for the ward, day patients, staff, visitors and the hospice’s many volunteers. There is also a kitchen on the ward, from which the ward meals are served and which is also use to provide meals, drinks and snacks for the 24 in-house patients, ward staff and visitors.
When specifying school catering equipment, it’s important to consider the pupil journey, from start to finish. Which is why, at the LACA Main Event 2015, Moffat will be showing equipment specially designed for all areas of school catering, from heated food transport to counters and clearing.
On the stand will be Moffat’s PF12 food transport heated holding cabinet, which is designed to hold hot food at optimum temperatures for serving, without spoiling. This unit is ideal for schools as meals can be prepared then held, ready to wheel-in and serve as soon as the lunchtime bell rings. This is especially suited to multi-purpose areas and when the kitchen is separate from the dining room.

Moffat’s Sheerline chilled displays – the attractive way to serve food
When designing a front of house serving area, the chilled display cabinets are a key consideration. They need to fit in with branding and décor while keeping food at safe temperatures to preserve its flavour and integrity. Moffat’s Sheerline refrigerated units have been designed to enhance the look and feel of the serving area.

Different finishes on Moffat’s chilled merchandiser enhance display
At the heart of any grab and go or self-service operation are open-fronted chilled merchandisers. Not only are these essential for displaying food and drinks safely and attractively, but they also encourage customer up-take and minimise wastage.
Moffat has designed a range of stylish chilled merchandisers with stainless steel, wood effect or colour finishes that compliment an establishment’s décor at the same time as enhancing the display and maintaining food quality.
