New role covers both Taylor UK and Hubbard Systems
Tom King has joined HTG Trading as key account manager. This new role will cover multiple brands in the HTG portfolio, working with both the Hubbard Systems and Taylor UK divisions, including market-leading products such as Scotsman ice makers, Taylor soft serve ice cream machines, Eloma combis and TurboChef high speed ovens.
There’s a cyclical nature to Tom’s work in the foodservice sector. His professional life began at Worcester County Cricket Club, where he helped run the bar and catering events. He became a personal licence holder at just 19, as bar manager for the Wadworth Pub Chain. He then took a step away from hospitality and followed another of his passions, cars, working with BMW and Pro-Align. Joining HTG brings him back to hospitality, where it all began.
As HTG’s key account manager he will be responsible for managing some of the market’s largest customers. He is also tasked with bringing on board new chain accounts as well as growing sales revenue and helping to enhance the overall customer experience.
While his passion for socialising and eating out makes hospitality a natural fit to Tom, his other interests include traveling, hitting the gym, and, of course, cars. It’s this combination of interests that Tom feels will lend itself well to his approach to the catering equipment market.
“I’m delighted to join HTG,” says Tom. “I believe my varied experience will allow me to bring a different perspective. This is a competitive industry, but I’m confident that with HTG’s superb product range and exceptional service, I can help the company grow its already significant share of the market.”
Pete Gray, managing director of HTG Trading, says, “Tom’s background in both the automotive industry and hospitality gives us fresh insight into areas such as customer needs, building relationships and delivering tailored solutions. He has considerable experience in high-value, high pressure environments and a proven record in competitive sales. I know he will be a great addition to the team, and will help our customers, both dealers and end-users, to find the best solutions in a challenging economic environment.”
