CESA Council Expands and Up-skills

Larger body reflects increasing workload as Association puts catering industry case to legislators in the UK and Brussels CESA is to expand its main Council, from twelve to a maximum of sixteen members. The move reflects the increase in workload undertaken by the Association, especially in relation to its commitments in advising and lobbying in the UK and Brussels.

Catering equipment associations collaborate on a range of industry projects

The two leading trade associations representing catering equipment manufacturers and distributors have announced plans to work more closely together.  Catering equipment manufacturers are represented by CESA, the Catering Equipment Suppliers Association, and distributors by CEDA, the Catering Equipment Distributors Association.  The organisations have met regularly over many years but there is now more opportunity to work collaboratively on key issues. This will bring an increased chance of successful outcomes that will benefit the whole industry.

Government Procurement Service (GPS) agrees to work more closely with CESA in future – and help members in the short term

Following the meeting between CESA, the Catering Equipment Suppliers Association, and the Government Procurement Service (GPS), it has been agreed that its tendering process, which has been a contentious issue for many equipment companies, will be re-examined for future tenders.  However, this will not happen until next year.  In the meantime, GPS has offered to help catering equipment companies who were unsuccessful in tendering for a place on the framework agreement this year on a ‘one to one basis,’ to...
