Moffat’s new MHC merchandiser combines hot and cold Grab & Go in one unit
Food-to-go venues are often short of space front-of-house, so operators are increasingly looking for ways to offer a range of tasty Grab & Go menu items on a small footprint. As well as being compact, the display equipment needs to hold foods at safe temperatures, without deterioration, and show it off to its best advantage.
In response to customer demands, Moffat is launching the new MHC Grab & Go food merchandiser which innovatively combines hot and cold display in the one slimline unit. It’s ideal for keeping sandwiches, drinks and salads perfectly chilled, whilst keeping hot snacks such as pasties and sausage rolls at the ideal serving temperature.

“A caterer’s dream” is how Angela Wakefield, the catering and hotel services manager at Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust, describes the Moffat Versigen Single Tray Service (VTS) trolley that’s currently delivering meals to patients in Ormskirk Hospital’s Bluebell Ward. (more…)

Mike Allder returns to Moffat as Area Sales Manager
Mike is a familiar face, having previously worked in the Moffat sales team for several years. He left to join BGL Rieber, where he worked with customers in local authorities and hospitals, and then moved on to become Project Manager for Scomac Cambridge, looking after full kitchen and FOH projects for key accounts such as Waitrose and Roadchef.
“Moffat has been transformed in recent years, in a very positive way, and when the chance came to re-join I leapt at it,” says Mike. “I’m keen to get back to building relations with clients and driving sales from a leading manufacturer.”
Moffat’s innovative Cube Clearing Trolleys clear up after school meal times
School meal times are not only important for fuelling children’s bodies, they are a valuable learning experience – teaching children about social responsibilities and encouraging them to take an active role in helping to clear away after their meal. This is of particular importance when the dining room is also the school hall and used for lessons, meetings or assemblies after lunch.
That’s why Moffat has launched a ‘quick clear’ Cube Clearing Trolley, part of the popular Versiclear range. This eye-catching mobile clear-away trolley is designed to double the useable area for school children to dispose of food waste and deposit trays and crockery and reduce clearing time. It conveniently folds into itself when not in use, so is compact and easy to store.
British manufacturer expands team further
Moffat has announced two new appointments, both of which underline the company’s commitment to customer service. Liam Barr joins the company as production planner while Sinclair Campbell has moved internally from manufacturing and product testing to the R&D department.
Striking Moffat counter helps Kelpies visitor centre cope with huge popularity of new attraction
Nicola Sturgeon gave her New Year address from Scotland’s newest visitor centre – at The Kelpies near Falkirk. The iconic horses’ heads are a bold statement, too, and form part of The Helix, a £42million project which is regenerating an 800 acre park and is co-partnered by Falkirk Council, Falkirk Community Trust and Scottish Canals. Original expectations were that they would attract around 330,000 visitors a year. In the first 14 months over a million came – so a visitor centre was clearly a top priority. The popularity meant that the centre would have to be able to cope with big numbers, but would also have to reflect the Kelpies’ striking design. At the heart of the servery area is another bold design: a bespoke counter supplied by E&R Moffat. (more…)

Aspen Services is ‘over the moon’ with new design – and so is the customer
Moffat has launched a multi-tier cold display unit that combines excellent temperature control with a stylish ‘flat glass’ design. The model was developed in conjunction with Aspen Services, on behalf of a garden centre that was completely revamping its catering facilities.
“The customer had a very clear idea of the display they wanted,” says Aspen’s managing director Ian Sweeten. “It needed to be enclosed, as everything is served rather than grab and go. They didn’t want a standard design, so we approached Moffat to ask them to help.”
New counter helps staff handle 26% increase in customers
