Rational SelfCooking Center uses 10 percent less energy than its predecessor

The Rational SelfCooking Center is renowned for saving time, energy and training in the kitchen. Rational has recently performed a comparison between the SelfCooking Center and its predecessor, the ClimaPlus Combi.

Past tests have shown that the ClimaPlus Combi reduced energy consumption by up to 60 percent compared to traditional cooking methods and delivered significant savings compared to traditional combis. However, the recent tests undertaken by Rational have shown the SelfCooking Center reduces energy consumption even further.

The new tests directly compared the energy consumption of the SelfCooking Center and the ClimaPlus Combi. Despite the fact that the SelfCooking Center has a lot more functions and features, and that the ClimaPlus Combi was already a very energy-efficient machine, the tests found that the SelfCooking Center uses up to 10 percent less energy than the ClimaPlus Combi.

Rational’s SelfCooking Center saves energy by constantly monitoring the cooking process and keeping the food in the optimum conditions to produce perfect results, time after time. LevelControl monitors each individual rack, meaning mixed loads can be cooked at the same time, as the cooking times are balanced accordingly. LevelControl ensures that the temperatures are kept consistant even if the door is opened, while only using as much power as is necessary and reducing energy waste.

The SelfCooking Center also saves in other ways. The fully automatic cleaning programme means the unit is cleaned to optimum HACCP safety while using minimum energy, chemicals and water, as well as saving time and money. Descaling is conducted automatically with each cleaning cycle so there is no need for water softening.
