Precision Refrigeration redefines blast chiller freezers for catering.

NEW BRITISH-BUILT RANGE OF BLAST CHILLER FREEZERS

Precision's new blast chiller freezer 1 Every caterer can now benefit from the advantages of blast chilling and blast freezing, thanks to a new range of blast chiller freezers from British manufacturer Precision Refrigeration.

The company has launched new systems claimed to be the easiest-ever to use. They are also remarkably low in energy consumption, while delivering very high performance. They offer soft chill, hard chill and blast-freeze modes, and can switch to standard chiller/freezer storage when required.

What’s more, they are extremely affordable and compact, easy to site in the kitchen, and capable of working off standard 13amp power sockets.

The Precision range initially features three models – a very compact under-counter blast chiller freezer, a compact counter unit with integral worktop, and a conventional upright cabinet. All incorporate features not available at this price point before.

Key to the new Precision range is a simple digital control panel that makes blast chilling or blast freezing a simple, totally reliable process, with virtually no staff training required. Only two button presses are needed to give a choice of soft chill or hard chill cycles in 90 minutes, or a blast freeze cycle of 240 minutes.

Full HACCP compatibility is built in, with control either by time or by food temperature using the internal food probe. When the cycle is ended, the units switch automatically to standard chiller or freezer storage.

The large upright cabinet has a capacity of 35kg of food, with the smaller units accepting 10kg.  All three models take standard 1/1 gastronorm pans. The under-counter version allows for easy incorporation of blast-chilling/freezing into a fitted kitchen design, while the counter version includes a top-mounted control panel at the back of its stainless steel work surface.

New control technology reduces the amount of power needed, and all units can operate from a single standard 13amp socket, unlike other systems which require at least 16amp connections. This, together with the option for counter and under-counter units, makes it very easy for almost any type of commercial kitchen to consider including blast chilling in their workflow.

The Precision design has the refrigeration system mounted on the bottom of the cabinets, at the point where the kitchen’s ambient temperature is normally at its lowest. This allows them to operate efficiently in environments of up to 43C.

Defrosting is automatic and fast, and Precision’s special vaporiser system design eliminates the need for a defrost drain. The refrigeration system is easily serviced from the front of the unit, and all models are fitted with heavy duty anti-slide brake and swivel castors as standard.
