What happens when chef wants to quickly heat up a sauce or dish? In the pressure of the busy kitchen, Samsung’s Zap Pad is a godsend. It’s a boost button that adds 20 seconds to the microwave oven’s cooking time, instantly. No need to turn dials or select a programme, just open the door, pop in the plate, shut the door and zap the pad.
The Zap Pad is now a standard feature on all medium and heavy duty Samsung commercial microwave ovens. Each time chef hits the pad, an extra 20 seconds is added to the cooking time – so hit it twice, and it adds 40 seconds.
“Chefs love the Zap Pad, because it’s just such a simple way to get cooking or reheating,” says David Watts, manager of Samsung Professional Appliances. “They can even hit the Pad during cooking, if they think the dish needs some extra time.”
Samsung’s medium and heavy duty commercial microwave ovens are available with two control panels – either touch pads, which are programmable, or twin dials, controlling time and power. Both versions offer the Zap Pad.
The heavy duty models are rated at 1850 watt, the medium duty 1500 watt, and both have the largest capacity in their class – the 2/3 gastronorm oven cavity being 35% bigger than conventional designs. This makes them ideal for larger plates or jugs and multi-portion cooking.
