18, 7 = 264, 20+, 70, 32… CESA counts its post-Hotelympia blessings

SONY DSCWith Hotelympia now over for another year, CESA is taking stock of what was a very successful show for the Association. Highlights included the biennial Foodservice Order of Merit awards, given to 18 people in recognition of their commitment in service to the catering industry. Meanwhile, seven graduates received their Certified Food Service Professional qualifications, bringing the total number of CFSP-accredited professionals in the UK to 264. The official launch of CESABIM, the library of BIM models for catering equipment, attracted considerable interest, not only from equipment suppliers but also consultants and foodservice operators – over twenty brands are already listed on the database. In all, 70 CESA members exhibited at the Show.

However, one of the most satisfying Hotelympia statistics for CESA was that it received no less than 32 membership enquiries from equipment supply companies. “To receive this number of new enquiries to join the Association is unprecedented,” said CESA chair Nick Oryino. “It demonstrates the growing importance of CESA’s work and initiatives, in a wide range of areas, from training programmes and influencing legislators to helping develop H&S regulations, creating forums and providing market data – all of which can play key roles in facilitating our members’ business growth.”

Regarding the 2014 recipients of the Foodservice Order of Merit, Nick said “These people are the drivers, the movers, the shakers, the people who make it happen.  Their passion and commitment enriches our industry.  The Foodservice Order of Merit recognises their contribution.”

The Catering Equipment Suppliers Association (CESA)is the authoritative voice of the catering equipment industry, representing over 170 companies who supply, service and maintain all types of commercial catering equipment – from utensils to full kitchen schemes.
