Double the dishes, half the cost

Winterhalter’s double rack system saves time and cuts operating costs

Winterhalter's double rack system saves time and cuts costsTimes are tough and all aspects of a catering operation come under scrutiny when trying to cut costs. Warewashing comes high up the list of areas where savings could be made, as it is a big consumer of energy and other resources.

Warewashing specialist Winterhalter offers a double rack system for its UC-L undercounter warewashers that cuts operating costs by up to 50%, by loading twice as much into the warewasher each wash cycle. The system is especially useful in bed and breakfasts, cafes, coffee shops, hospital ward kitchens and other catering establishments that use lots of small, same-sized dishes.

The double rack system consists of a rack holder and two individually removable slide-in racks. The bottom rack, with its angled base, is designed to wash up to 24 cups, while the top rack offers space for 16 small plates. An additional cutlery holder further adds to machine capacity. The slide-in (500 x 500 mm) racks are made of wire coated with polyamide, to protect crockery from damage.

All machines in the UC series are equipped with elliptical wash fields and VarioPower variable pressure control. The double rack is designed to allow maximum water penetration so that the water jets reach all dishes, guaranteeing excellent cleaning results in both racks.

With simple to use touch screen control panels, the UC machines have language independent

symbols and animations to minimise operator error. They also continually check themselves for faults or problems, alerting staff if any action needs to be taken. This minimises downtime and avoids any need to repeat wash cycles.

As well as doubling capacity and halving operating costs, using the double rack system gives significant time savings.
