CST’s new ‘one for all’ DECT:

Multifunctional cordless DECT handset sets critical messaging benchmark in reliability, toughness, safety AND good looks.

Stand 325, Hospitality 2011, NEC, Jan 24 – 26

CST's new DECT system is ideal for hotels DECT phones are becoming increasingly sophisticated but CST’s new 3100 Series handsets, designed specifically for the hospitality market, create a whole new benchmark in terms of reliability, toughness, safety and stylish looks. The 3100 is a ‘one-for-all’ device that can not only handle and monitor all a site’s messaging and alarms, but also help protect lone workers, too.

Launched at the Hospitality 2011 Show, the 3100 Series handsets are extremely robust: their IP65 rating means they can handle the splash, dirt and grease problems of busy catering environments. They also offer the clearest possible voice communications, thanks to their HD audio capability.

However, it is the handset’s ability to handle critical messages and alerts that really sets it apart. The advanced messaging display and ‘dynamic alarm ID’ offers colour-coded alarms and instantly-recognisable graphics, so recipients immediately know what they are dealing with. For example, an emergency can be displayed in red, a call for assistance in green. Alarms from specific areas or departments can be colour-coded, too: thus the leisure centre alarm could be yellow, a call from security blue, and so on.

In order to keep on top of all a site’s critical alarms and messages, staff often have to carry three or four different communications devices – pagers, DECT handsets, mobiles, radios and so on. Because the 3100 Series’ critical messaging server (CMS) handles and monitors all a site’s messaging and alarms, everything can be routed through the DECT handset, so staff only need carry one device. The 3100 Series handset can message to SMS mobile or email.

Add in the handsets’ lone-worker positioning feature and the 3100 delivers a true all-in-one communications solution for the hospitality market.

Another highlight of the CST stand is Boomerang, the company’s new customer call system. CST will also show a selection from its range of hospitality communications and facilities management products, including pagers, two-way radios, its award-winning Call buttons and the sophisticated Genesis communications software.
