6ft Decorative Lobster on top of Beeston Bump

Claire's finished lobster on top of Beeston BumpClaire Knight, who has worked with us on a number of design projects, has finished the mammoth task of decorating a large fiberglass lobster and getting it to it’s resting place on top of Beeston Bump.

Despite many challenges, including how to transport the 6ft lobster safely to the Bump and up to the top of the 63 metre high cliff-top hill in time for the Cromer and Sheringham Crustacea Crawl, Claire’s lobster made it in one piece and I think you’ll agree, looks pretty spectacular. Well done Claire!

The Crustacea Crawl is part of the new Crab and Lobster Festival. Visitors can follow a trail in search of 82 colourful crabs and lobsters across Cromer and Sheringham (trail maps are available from the towns’ tourist information centres as well as a number of local shops and businesses). The trail lasts for six weeks before the models gather together on Cromer Pier ready to be auctioned off on May 30th to raise money for Help for Heroes and the RNLI Lifeboat Stations at Cromer and Sheringham.

You can follow Claire’s journey on her blog Quirky Dream.

  1. Unfortunately Claire’s lobster is nolonger resides on top of Beeston Bump. It appears that vandals had wrenched the lobster from it’s base before pushing it off the cliff. It was found smashed to pieces on the beach below.
What a waste of all Claire’s hardwork and a terrible shame that it is no longer there for people to visit and admire. The lobster is irreparable and therefore will not be part of the auction on May 30th.
