Home insurance for people with criminal convictions

A criminal conviction can affect your home insurance cover.[1] People with criminal convictions can often have problems getting their homes insured. It’s not only a matter of getting the cover: it can take an age just to get a response, whether it be a quote or a rejection.

Adrian Flux Insurance Services has launched a new service that offers a fast response – the company aims to turn round a quote in no more than 24 hours. The new service also offers cheaper rates for those with only minor convictions.

"The stats show that people who have convictions from when they were younger are a good risk – they have often turned over a new leaf," explains Julie Carter of Flux. "We talk to them to see how we can help them get the cover they need. For example, we’ll see if their lives have changed – do they have a job? Are they in a settled relationship? Do they have children? All these factors can influence not only our ability to offer cover, but also the actual cost of their home insurance."

To access the service call 08700 772266. Flux’s staff are trained to investigate all possible angles to ensure that each request is dealt with as quickly and sympathetically as possible.

Adrian Flux aims to offer cheaper home insurance and has a range of policies for homes, contents, landlords and buy to let, including specialist schemes for hard to insure properties such as thatched homes, underpinned buildings and those at risk of flooding. For information call the Flux household insurance hotline on 08700 772266, email household@adrianflux.co.uk or visit the website, www.adrianflux.co.uk, and click on the relevant button under the ‘Home Insurance’ section.
