CNP helps get 50 year old Bernie Hollywood fitter and stronger for his ultimate endurance challenge

CNP helps Bernie Hollywood undertake the ultimate British endurance challenge
……. "I feel fitter, stronger and I recover quicker"

Bernie Hollywood Turning 50 is a big deal for most people, but for Bernie Hollywood it will not make a jot of difference. It won’t affect his love of running, cycling and pushing himself to the limits. If anything he plans to do more, and with the help of Kerry Kayes and CNP Professional supplements he should be able to push himself even further.

Already Bernie has completed 100 marathons and 100 half marathons, two triathlons and plenty of other endurance challenges along the way. He is in the Guinness Book of Records as the holder of the longest distance run in seven days –352.2 miles in March 2008.

Earlier this year he was disappointed not to qualify for the 2009 Race Across America. He almost succeeded though – and despite atrocious weather conditions he completed the course, unlike many entrants.

Undaunted Bernie has set himself the ultimate British cycling endurance challenge this summer. He plans to cycle from Land’s End to John O’Groats (1200 miles) climbing, with his bicycle, Britain’s three highest peaks Snowdon 3,560 ft (Wales), Scafell Pike 3,210 ft (England) and Ben Nevis 4,370 ft (Scotland) – all in under 12 days! He’s doing it to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

Most men half of Bernie’s age would be hard pressed to undertake this sort of punishing test but he is confident that with the proper preparation he will be successful. Bernie’s typical weekday training schedule comprises two hours on the bicycle trainer in the mornings before work, with a 30 minute swim, 30 minute free weights and 30 minute run in the early evening. At the weekends he increases this with a four hour cycle ride.

"I realised as I started training for the Race Across America that I was going to need to take some nutrition supplements to allow my body to cope with all this intense exercise and to help it recover overnight ready to keep going the next day," says Bernie. "I looked around at what was on the market and turned to CNP Professional for help. I was impressed with the advice Kerry Kayes (founder of CNP) was giving to sportspeople across the disciplines and the results they were getting."

Kerry devised a diet plan for Bernie incorporating CNP supplements to maximise his energy stores, protect the muscles and tendons against damage during such a gruelling regime, help recovery and reduce fatigue.

"Since I started taking the CNP supplements I’ve noticed a real difference," says Bernie. "I feel fitter and stronger and notice I can push myself that little bit further. I can train harder and longer with a faster recovery period. I’m ready for my new challenge in the summer and plan to increase my exercise schedule to 12 hours cycling per day for the final week or two."

Bernie is taking:
·         Pro Vital an advanced multi-vitamin and mineral supplement with anti-oxidants that play a significant role in promoting optimum health and recovery during training and competition;
·         Pro Omega which contains Omega 3, 6 and 9 plus plant steroesters to help with problems caused by intense joint pounding exercise;
·         Pro Recover a post-workout recovery drink containing a blend of high glycemic (fast-acting) carbohydrates and fast-acting proteins to aid muscle repair and strengthening; and
·         Pro MR a high protein, low fat meal replacement shake.
