Manitowoc’s flake ice machines are built for reliability
Flake ice is a good all-round choice for multi-purpose use. It is perfect for displaying salads, fish and cold platters as well as being ideal for scooping into drinks. Flake ice comprises free-flowing small soft pieces of ice with a 65% ice to water ratio. It is light, does not clump into solid blocks and forms a delicate cushion for displays.
Because flake ice has so many uses the choice of ice machine is especially important as it will be in constant use. Manitowoc, America’s leading ice machine manufacturer, has developed the Q-Model 400 Series of sturdy and reliable flake ice machines for busy bars, fast food outlets and restaurants. These undercounter flake ice machines can produce up to 179kg of flake ice per day, every day.
The 400 Series has taken flake ice machines to a new level of reliability. Key to this is a new heavy duty, precision-machined, bronze evaporator that offers superior heat-transfer capabilities and greater efficiency and reliability. To further enhance reliability a split collar evaporator support with shaft coupling ensures longer water seal and bearing life.
At only 66 cm wide and with a smart, stainless steel finish and front venting air flow, the machines can be fitted into any available space front of house, back bar or behind the scenes. An easily accessible evaporator drain valve makes the ice machine easy to clean, improves sanitation and requires less maintenance.
For simplicity a selector switch on the front of the machine initiates ice, on, off and clean operations. There is no need to remove the front panel for cleaning, it is all fully automatic with Manitowoc’s patented cleaning technology. To further assist maintenance and protect the condenser from fluff, grease and dust, the machines have a reusable air filter that slides out without tools for cleaning.
Manitowoc ice machines are distributed in the UK by Classeq.
