Container Kitchen Systems’ temporary kitchens boost capacity

CKS for events and banqueting. Even the most organised of banqueting venues encounters peak periods where capacity needs to be pushed that little bit further. Judicious seating arrangements or marquees can significantly raise the number of diners but neither of these options addresses the real constraint – the capacity of the kitchen.

It’s no good increasing the number of diners and then finding that the kitchen simply isn’t able to cope with the subsequent demand. On the other hand it doesn’t make sense to invest in kitchen expansion and create under-usage during quieter periods.

A Container Kitchen Systems temporary kitchen module provides the perfect solution to this problem. The temporary kitchen can be ordered as soon as the need for extra banqueting capacity is known and taken away when business is back to normal.

Often banquet/events organisers can plan several events during the hire period making the temporary kitchen extremely cost effective. And just in case there’s a late banqueting booking, CKS says that the kitchens can usually be ordered at extremely short notice – up to 24 hours before the event.

"People contact to us to increase kitchen capabilities for periods of intense business," says Mark Kingston of CKS. "It gives them extreme flexibility in planning if they know they can expand their kitchen capacity for periods of anything from one day to one year or more."

The CKS kitchen modules come in three basic sizes. The smallest measures 3.8 x 2.8m, has sufficient space for two chefs, can provide up to 200 meals per session and is fitted with all the latest kitchen equipment including a gas six burner oven range, salamander gas grill and double basket gas fryer.

"We can customise the kitchens to suit each customer," explains Mark. "For example, some chefs have favourite pieces of kit that ‘they just can’t do without’."
All CKS requires is access to the site. CKS delivers the kitchen, manoeuvres it into place and connects it up to the utilities – the kitchen can be operating within two hours of delivery.

CKS is one of the UK’s leading temporary kitchen specialists. The company also offers a professional kitchen installation service and operates a catering equipment maintenance division.
