Ex-Costa brand coach and singing horror fan looks forward to new challenges as Caffeine expands
Jodie Makin has joined Caffeine Limited as operations manager.
Jodie brings a wealth of experience to the role, which sees her co-ordinating the work of the different departments at Caffeine to ensure customers get the high levels of service they’ve come to expect.
Jodie has a deep knowledge of all aspects of the coffee industry. Before joining Caffeine she was with Costa Coffee for nine years, working her way up from Barista to store manager before moving to Costa Express and gaining experience of a range of equipment. At Costa Express she worked as brand coach, providing training across the south of England. After that she moved to the international operations team, where she helped introduce Costa Express to new markets as well as supporting the growth of existing markets in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. This has given her a peerless understanding of the coffee industry, which will play a key role as Caffeine continues to expand and serve dealers and existing and new customers.
Jodie is excited to join the team at Caffeine. “Everyone here has a great attitude, we want to get stuff done and do things for the right reasons,” she says. “It’s a varied role, I get to be hands on while also dealing with corporate strategy. It’s almost impossible to get this mix in a corporate setting, and that’s one of the reasons I love the whole family-run element of Caffeine!”
Outside of work, Jodie lives just outside of Brighton with her dog, Watson. Originally trained in musical theatre, she’s a fan of horror and her hobbies include singing, cooking, spending time with Watson on the beach, and making plans for world domination.
