A touch of glass

Utopia’s glassware trends – long, retro, unbreakable and eco chic

Never has there been such fierce competition in the drinks’ industry. Manufacturers are bringing out fresh flavour infusions seemingly daily, customers are looking to the latest craze to slake their insatiable thirst for new thrills, while operators seek to keep ahead of the trends to offer the ultimate serve.

Here glassware is the linchpin, it is the backdrop to every drink. It’s the showcase. Get the glassware right and the drink sells itself. Utopia, the market-leading tableware and glassware supplier, is right at the forefront of trends in the hospitality world and has just launched 53 new products around glassware and barware, something for every self-respecting establishment that wants to be a trendsetter.

The hottest looks are long glasses to savour cocktails from a sharing jug. Utopia’s Eternal glassware has striking vertical lines and generous proportions to give this classic range texture and visual impact. It’s perfect for long drinks and the addition of a jug adds versatility to the suite.

Outdoor venues worried about breakages need look no further than the Eden virtually unbreakable polycarbonate gin glass. It has a generous, oversize 24oz bowl and long stem, designed for classic and not so classic gin cocktails.

Taking cocktails to new heights is the fabulous 2Serve crystal coupe glass. With a shallow bowl on a long stem it brings contemporary style to any bar. Two moody new additions to the dramatic Hayworth range feature smoked glass deep coupes and shapely flutes.

Following the movement towards eco-friendly products the Lisbon range offers a geometric twist on recycled glass. Adding tactile interest, these hiball and double old fashioned glasses have a diamond textured grip area and a study retro feel.

To finish off the serve Utopia has launched a range of stylish cocktail picks. Oriental in design, the knotted bamboo picks are available in black and red. There is also a delicate open-looped option. Both styles are available in 9 and 12cm lengths. A natural colour wooden pick with a red ball decoration, in the same lengths, finishes off the range.

For establishments serving vegan food Utopia has introduced a simple vegan flag on a cocktail stick. This easy and effective way of marking out the vegan options eliminates any confusion on the part of staff or customers.

Utopia has produced a stunning new 28-page brochure highlighting the new ranges. It is available for download from the Utopia website.
