Rational UK, the inventor of the SelfCooking Center, has won the ‘Heavy Equipment Supplier of the Year’ award from the Catering Equipment Distributors Association (CEDA).
The award, one of the catering equipment industry’s most prestigious, is an accolade for Rational’s recent developments in combi cooking. This included the introduction last year of the new CareControl system, which has made a major difference in installation, operation and maintenance
Speaking at the presentation, on April 24th at Carden Park Hotel in Chester, CEDA Director Peter Kay said that Rational’s win was an overall view from CEDA’s 80+ members, who represented the majority of the catering sales industry in the UK.
"Across the industry and all categories, it represents the esteem in which Rational are held by catering dealers, and it’s richly deserved," he said.
Receiving the award on behalf of Rational was the company’s Development Chef Paul Kerr. He said he has noticed a marked rise in interest in the company’s flagship SelfCooking Center since the introduction of CareControl, a major enhancement that lowers energy consumption, removes the need for water treatment systems and makes cleaning easier.
"We are delighted to get this accolade from the distribution sector, which recognises what caterers have told us were their priorities," said Paul Kerr. "In previous years Rational has focused on making the SelfCooking Center the best possible cooking device. But CareControl focused on making it still more environmentally friendly, simpler to install and use and even more reliable too. That’s what made the difference with dealers."
