BETT 2011 – new product alert

Connect and Protect

CST shows the new DP Series of digital two-way radios at Bett 2011 CST’s communications systems for the education market offer a better way to connect managers and staff, enhancing safety and efficiency

Stand E128, BETT 2011, 12-15 January, Olympia, London.

New product launches from Call-Systems Technology  (CST) highlight the increasingly vital role that hi-tech communications play in safety and efficiency in modern schools, colleges and universities.

The new DP Series of digital two-way radios combines ultra-clear audio, an intuitive menu and clever safety features, including a new internal location alarm, based on Bluetooth technology, which locates and protects staff where GPS can’t. The large push-to-talk button makes communication straightforward while the emergency button ensures rapid response to critical situations. “The DP’s combination of ease of use with highly sophisticated features can make a significant contribution to staff safety,” says CST’s sales director Bruce McNair.

Visitors can also see the latest version of CST’s Genesis education communications software. This advanced package can integrate all of a site’s communications into one seamless and easy to use system, including email, text, pagers, phones, radios, mobiles and smartphones. It ensures that, whatever communications devices a member of staff is carrying, they’ll get the message.

Genesis enhances safety by integrating with all of a site’s alarms, from fire to security doors to maintenance systems. It also links to personal alarms including lone worker panic buttons. In case of emergency, Genesis automatically alerts all relevant personnel.

“Genesis provides truly effective communications that link office, teaching staff, managers, first aiders, maintenance and other services,” says Bruce McNair. “Whether it’s a faulty radiator, a meeting reminder or a critical safety issue, the faster the message is delivered, the faster it gets sorted. Because Genesis can operate with all a site’s communications devices, it ensures the messages get delivered, to all the relevant people, instantly. It connects and protects students and staff.”

Alongside its new launches CST will show a selection from its portfolio of communications products for education, including DECT phones, pager systems and two-way radios and handsets from market leaders including Vertex Standard, Kenwood and Motorola.

Security: from video analytics to the virtual turnstile

CST’s subsidiary, Security-Systems Technology, will show the latest CCTVs with video analytics. These can recognise unusual behaviour patterns in a building and alert staff to potential problems. The company will also show IP cameras, capable of transmitting data and images over the Internet for remote monitoring, and access control solutions including biometrics and the ‘virtual turnstile’, which operates without the need for a physical barrier.
