Historic Norfolk country house to host charity auction and Sir Norman Lamb talk

Former MP to discuss new book and his time at Westminster – plus auction of fantastic lots

One of Norfolk’s most interesting country houses, Templewood near Cromer, will host an auction of promises on Saturday 21st November, with doors opening at 6.30pm. The auction will be preceded by a talk from former MP Sir Norman Lamb, who will discuss his new book, Be More Human, and talk about his time in Westminster, when he was a Minister of State. Plus, guests will be treated to wine and cheese, with a selection provided by Mrs Temple’s Cheeses.

The auction is in aid of Norfolk-based charity Hospice Ethiopia and features a fabulous range of promises, such as artworks, jewelry, holidays, restaurant meals and tickets to major attractions.

“We are hugely grateful to Templewood’s owners, Eddie and Tina Anderson, for letting us into their incredible home for the evening,” says Sue Mumford MBE, chair of Hospice Ethiopia UK. “I know that Sir Norman Lamb’s talk will be absolutely fascinating, and his kind offer to open proceedings is very much appreciated. And we’re so lucky to have such a fantastic range of brilliant lots – we owe all the people who have given them an enormous debt of gratitude.”

Templewood is privately owned and is one of Norfolk’s architectural gems.  Built in the Palladian style in the 1930s as a shooting lodge, it incorporates parts of the old Bank of England.  This is a rare chance to visit the house and the beautiful parkland it sits in.

Tickets for the event are £10 and are available from Hospice Ethiopia trustee Kyle Swenor. For information and to book places email him at kyle@hospiceethiopia.org.uk.
