FEM suggests the Manitowoc S420 ice machine as a space-saving option

Posted in FEM

Ice is the big seller when it comes to drinks

Manitowoc S420 ice machine and bin combo from FEM The demand for iced drinks has never been higher. Not only is ice is an essential element for cocktails but there is increasing pressure on establishments to serve attractive and imaginative soft drinks. An efficient ice machine is the best way to make sure glasses are topped up and both staff and customers keep their cool.

However, many bar and restaurant owners are often put off purchasing a high-volume, ice machine because they don’t think they have the space. For these situations Foodservice Equipment Marketing (FEM) recommends the Manitowoc S420 ice machine fitted with a B420 storage bin as a space-saving option.

The S420 makes large quantities of high quality, crystal clear dice or half-dice ice suitable for drinks on the rocks, blended drinks or for filling ice buckets. Together, the ice machine/bin combo has an overall size of 559 x 864 x 1816mm and produces a generous 204kg of ice per 24 hours with a storage capacity of 141kg.

Especially suitable for front of house or back-bar operation, the S420’s internal compressor is isolated from the base to eliminate any noise or vibration. Rounded corners and a sleek, wipe-clean finish ensure the S420 fits in with most decors, while a foam-insulated base dampens any noise generated from inside the machine.

Manitowoc’s American-designed machines are built to deliver large quantities of ice, 24/7, in the most efficient way possible. The compressor size is exactly matched to the evaporator to optimise energy use. The ‘air-assist’, ice removal technology cuts the time taken to harvest the ice – subsequently increasing the amount of ice produced per day.

Designed for ease-of-use, parts that require cleaning or maintenance are accessible from the front of the machine without the need for special tools. For the ultimate hygiene, Manitowoc’s patented Guardian inhibitor protects against airborne bacteria while moulded AlphaSan components reduce slime build-up. An automatic cleaning system (AuCS) eliminates routine maintenance operations. AuCS counts the number of ice-making cycles and initiates cleaning or sanitising cycles automatically at intervals pre-selected by the operator.

FEM distributes the Manitowoc ice machines with an outstanding warranty: five year parts and labour on the evaporator, five year parts and three years labour guarantee on the compressor, and three years parts and labour on all other icemaker components.
