Williams Hooked! on free fridge winner

King’s Lynn based commercial refrigeration manufacturer Williams Refrigeration has announced the winner of its recent social media competition as Hooked! Restaurant & Bar.

Specialising in fish, the Truro restaurant won a Williams Amber A135 cabinet wrapped in a cool white finish, featuring Hooked!’s signature branding.

Rob Duncan, chef and manager at Hooked! Restaurant & Bar, commented on winning the fridge: “We have been busier than ever this summer and realised that an additional fridge for the bar would make a lot of difference for the staff as well as the customers. So I thought I would try my luck with the competition.

“It was really exciting to win something, especially as it benefits the business.”

Rob added that the Williams refrigerator will mostly be used for chilling white wine glasses, as well as holding table water and condiments.

“It will save a journey upstairs for the guys to get water and other drinks, allowing more time to serve our customers,” Rob said.

In order to get its own striking branding onto the fridge, Hooked! opted to take advantage of Williams’ Chameleon vinyl wrap service, which was a “smooth process”, said Rob.

“The design process was really easy and the finished product looks amazing. We all love the design and it’s great that it can be seen by customers in the restaurant.”

Not only does the product look sensational in Hooked!’s restaurant, the Amber A135 is “performing well”, while a number of features have impressed Rob, who said this was his first Williams product.

“The cabinet is strong and robust, and is certainly an upgrade on our existing equipment in the kitchen.

“It’s easy to use and has so far delivered a reliable and consistent performance. It’s very compact and, with space being tight in our bar area, the fridge fits perfectly too,” Rob said.

Commenting on why Williams ran the competition, Malcolm Harling, the company’s sales and marketing director, said: “After a tough period for businesses and chefs, due to the pandemic, we wanted to give something back.  The competition has been a great success and the finished product looks fantastic with the Hooked! branding.

“We had a strong response and Hooked! Restaurant & Bar was chosen at random when the competition closed. It’s been a privilege to work with them and we’re certainly hooked on their food!”

Rob added: “Williams has been excellent right from when they contacted us about winning, to design and delivery. They answered any queries promptly and it’s been a great experience.

“We don’t currently have any other Williams products but we will definitely be using them again in the future. Thank you so much for our fridge!”
