Rational offers an intelligent solution for staffing challenges

Helping chefs maximise productivity by utilising their Rational cooking systems

Rational is showing how its technology can help with staff shortages by focusing on the subject in its training programmes.  “We want to ensure that operators with our intelligent cooking systems can exploit this key benefit,” says Adam Knights, marketing director of Rational UK.  “By developing cooking systems with this level of intelligence, Rational has created a solution for many of the problems we will face in the post-pandemic, post-Brexit world – especially the need to be more productive with fewer people.”

Rational’s cooking systems have in-built intelligence, in the shape of the advanced iCookingSuite technology.  It gives the systems the ability to take over the cooking process, letting chefs get on with other tasks.  It can recognise the food’s weight, size and condition and it will automatically adjust cooking parameters to ensure chef gets the best possible results.  “Chefs can rely on the iCookingSuite to assess, monitor and complete cooking processes – tasks that would have taken up the time of one or more members of the kitchen brigade team in the past,” says Knights.  In other words, it’s like having an extra assistant in the kitchen – and can be a crucial aid in any kitchen facing the problem challenge of staff shortages

In fact, iCookingSuite actually learns from its users, so that it copies preferred cooking habits and results.  Of course, if chefs want to add a new touch to the food, they can intervene at any point during the cooking process.

“Staff turnover can mean that the knowledge gained during training is lost, and that our customers revert to manual operation instead of taking advantage of the intelligent cooking systems,” says Knights.  “To avoid them having to do that we are offering continuous training, so customers can carry on operating the cooking systems to their maximum potential.

“All our customers are welcome to participate in our continuous training programmes, however new or old their Rational cooking system is.”

Operators have a choice of how they access the Rational training programmes.  They can ask for training on site, use Rational’s training app or the ConnectedCooking platform, book onto an Expert Chef Live online webinar or talk to a regional sales manager by using Rational’s ChefLine phone service.  For more information contact your local Rational dealer or the company direct.
