Williams supplies cabinets to field hospital

Manufacturer pledges ‘service as normal’ to key industries

Kings Lynn-based refrigeration manufacturer Williams has been selected to supply a significant quantity of its products to NHS field hospitals over recent weeks.

“The bulk of the NHS orders have been for storage cabinets, but we’ve also been supplying a mix of other products, notably blast chillers,” says Malcolm Harling, sales and marketing director for Williams.  “Like many foodservice equipment manufacturers, we’re working with a small, dedicated team and, obviously, our priority is to support the NHS.”

The lorries transporting the orders have delivered to multiple sites around the UK.  Along with supplying new product, Williams has also been working with the NHS to ensure continuity of supply for spares and repairs.  “We have a good stock of both products and spare parts,” says Harling.  “We have a nationwide approved contractor network, with engineers available at all times.  They are fully trained on the government guidelines in areas such as social distancing and the use of personal protection equipment (PPE).”

To ensure the safety of engineers and customers Williams has developed a special booking system for service call outs and installs.  This means there has to be a specified time slot for the engineer and a single point of contact to plan the site visit.

“We’re doing our very best to ensure that, for our customers in the NHS and other key industries, it’s ‘service as normal,’” says Harling.  “Our offices remain open to offer support and advice and to ensure that everything that can be done, is done.”
