Rational Wins Innovation Award

Best Innovator Award, Dr. Günter Blaschke, Rational , left and Dr.-Ing. Kai Engel, A.T_edited-1Rational has joined companies such as Volkswagen, BMW and Henkle in being named ‘Best Innovator’.  The German award, which is judged by experts from industry and government, was announced in Berlin on 7th February 2013.

The innovative Rational process was declared overall winner by a jury of experts consisting of the international business consultants A.T. Kearney, research organisation Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, the German Ministry of Economics and the WirtschaftsWoche, a German weekly business news magazine.

In presenting the award at the German Ministry of Economics, Dr. Kai Engel of A.T. Kearney said: “The winners of this competition are a step ahead of other companies and provide world class performance where innovation is required.”

Dr. Günter Blaschke, chairman of the board of Rational AG, received the award, paying tribute to Rational’s chief technology officer Peter Wiedemann and his development team.  “We are particularly proud that our innovation has been acknowledged as ‘Best Practice’ by such a distinguished specialist jury,” he said. “It encourages us to continue to offer customers the best possible benefits, through the best available technology on the market.”

The latest Rational combi steamer, the SelfCookingCenter® whitefficiency®, has up to 30% more capacity and reduces production times by up to 30% compared to previous models.  Compared to conventional cooking methods it cuts energy consumption by up to 70%.  Because it can replace around 40% of standard cooking appliances, it can reduce the kitchen footprint by up to 30%.
