The thinking drinkers go to Edinburgh

The thinking drinker's guide to alcohol

Recently a couple of us from the office went up to Edinburgh for four nights of madness at the Fringe Festival. We managed to see 19 shows in all.

Of course we never really leave work behind us so decided to see what drinks writers Ben McFarland and Tom Sandham were up to. They were performing a show they had written called The Thinking Drinker’s Guide to Alcohol. It wasn’t just the offer of free drinks that attracted us to the show!

They did have a great selection from vodka, gin, tequila, absinthe and spiced rum. Sadly there was no whisky as non of the Scottish distillers would supply them with free samples.

Actually it was a light-hearted look at the history of alcohol in an effort to educate us to drink more but drink better. And I think they succeeded. A good laugh was had by all!
