Foodservice Equipment Marketing launches the big Cambro UPCH 1600 food transporter Style: "STUDIO"

Often banqueting kitchens are sited away from the main function area. In some cases cooked food has to be transported through a series of tortuous corridors, in and out of lifts, across courtyards and over outside paths. Throughout the journey, and while waiting to be served, the food needs to be held at safe temperatures.

Insulated food transporters are the most common method used but for larger functions staff often find they are rushing backwards and forwards with the carriers to keep up with the demand.

To overcome this problem Foodservice Equipment Marketing has introduced the new, large Cambro UPCH 1600 food transporter that can accommodate up to 24 full size, 6.5cm deep, gastronorm pans or 720 servings. The heated, insulated transporter features two separately insulated compartments, providing a hot and cold storage option.

Vertical vents in the transporter constantly circulate heat from the front to the back of the storage cabinet for consistent temperature throughout. The heating unit ensures a safe temperature range of 65 – 74 degrees Centigrade while it is plugged in. A power on and heat on indicator displays the status of the transporter while an on/off switch allows for convenient powering on or off without unplugging the unit.

The UPCH 1600 is designed for rough use with moulded-in bumpers for added protection and a tough, wipe clean exterior that stays cool to the touch for safe handling. The foamed in-place, polyurethane insulation combined with the polyethylene exterior can keep food at safe temperatures for up to four hours when unplugged. Long enough for the most lengthy of journeys from the kitchen!
