Portion Control – How To Save £7,000 Per Year

Posted in FEM

Vollrath colour-coded portion-control utensils from FEM

Vollrath colour-coded portion-control spoodles from FEM Delivering proper nutrition and controlling food costs demands accurate, repeatable portion sizing. Consistently over-portioning can create staggering extra costs to a business. Increasing portion size by just 14g of a product priced at £6.00 per 453g adds about 19 pence to the serving cost. If that happens 100 times per day that is £133.00 per week or almost £7,000 per year!

Foodservice Equipment Marketing has introduced the Vollrath colour-coded portion-control utensils as a simple method for keeping on top of portion control. This comprehensive range of serving utensils eliminates mistakes in portion sizing. Different sizes are colour-coded, making it quick and easy to select the correct size for different food items.

For example if a menu requires 56g of vegetables then staff can use the ivory disher, or if it requires 112g then they can use the grey handled one and so on.

All the colour-coded utensils have silver-based antimicrobial Agion impregnated handles. Agion effectively kills off harmful microbes by preventing cell reproduction and respiration. Constructed from high quality stainless steel, the utensils are corrosion resistant and dishwasher safe.

The complete range consists of dishers, ladles, and spoodles (flat serving spoons).
