Winterhalter’s new undercounter warewasher wins 2010 Equipment Excellence Award

Winterhalter‘s new UC Series has won the 2010 Equipment & Supplies Excellence Award for warewashing. Organised by Caterer & Hotelkeeper, the UK hospitality industry magazine, and Caterersearch, its online division, the awards recognise innovation and enterprise, with judges looking for “evidence of fresh thinking, significant advances in design and innovative application of technology.”

Winterhalter UK is based in Milton Keynes. The picture shows Mark Lewis, centre, editor of Caterer & Hotelkeeper, with (left) David Smithson, CEO of Winterhalter UK, and (right) Stephen Kinkead, managing director of Winterhalter UK.
Judges included leading hospitality figures such as Nick Vadis, UK executive chef for the Compass Group and Henri Brossi, executive chef at the Dorchester. The panel said they particularly liked the UC’s flexibility, enabling it to suit the specific needs of an operation, and its energy saving properties.   They also liked the graphics for the fascia, which make the warewasher aesthetically pleasing in front of house situations.

If ever a piece of kit was designed to be ‘the right tool for the job’ then Winterhalter’s UC Series is it. The company set out to discover exactly what caterers wanted in undercounter warewashers, through research and the www.my-dream-machine.biz website (where caterers listed their ‘dream-machine’ wish list). Once Winterhalter had the suggestions, the ‘dream-machine’ was born.

Four key areas caterers highlighted were ease of operation, quality results, ease of maintenance, and low running costs. Winterhalter developed new technologies to meet these demands: the UC Series sets the standards in all four areas.

Winterhalter provides a total solution for warewashing, from pre-sales advice to after-sales service, training and maintenance. Alongside its market-leading dish and glasswashers, the company’s range includes utensil washers, advanced water treatment machines, cleaning chemicals and detergents.
