Vollrath’s new SuperShapes give food display a presentation pep-up

Posted in FEM

Oval, kidney-shaped, curved: Vollrath’s new SuperShapes gastronorm stainless steel pans are anything but square!

Vollrath's SuperShapes, available from FEM Stainless steel gastronorm pans are great. They’re versatile, hardwearing and hygienic. The only problem is, they’re a bit rectangular. Which is fine for cooking, chilling, freezing and storing. But what about presentation? Rectangular is a bit… well, square. Dull. Boring.

And rectangular has been the only option. Until now.

Vollrath Company has launched a new range of stainless steel pans that come in a choice of innovative and distinctly unsquare shapes – including oval, kidney and curved. Yet they fit in standard gastronorm holders, such as bains marie and refrigerated wells.

The new pans are called SuperShapes and they open up a whole world of possibilities for food presentation, giving caterers the chance to create striking displays that work harder, appealing to customers’ eyes and taste buds. Vollrath is one of the leading manufacturers of stainless steel gastronorm containers and the SuperShapes join the company’s comprehensive range of conventionally-shaped pans.

"The pans look great and are every bit as tough and hardwearing as any top quality standard stainless steel gastronorm container," says Mark Hogan, marketing manager of Foodservice Equipment Marketing (FEM), the UK distributor for the Vollrath range. "They allow caterers to really liven up their food display for relatively little cost."

Because SuperShapes conform to standard gastronorm sizes (1/1 and 1/2), there’s no need to invest in templates or other equipment. Made using Vollrath’s 300 series 22 gauge stainless steel, the pans are durable, easy to clean and provide excellent thermal transfer – making them ideal for both heated and chilled displays. Reinforced edges and corners protect them from dents.

The SuperShapes pans stack neatly within themselves for easy storage. A choice of lids and covers means caterers can tailor the pans to their operation. The new pans have list prices from just £27.30 (ex VAT).
