CESA Stats deliver ‘invaluable, unbeatable’ insight into foodservice market

CESASTATS Catering equipment suppliers are being invited to join a database that delivers vital sales information including trends, market growth and market share.

"Business professionals are increasingly recognising the importance of accurate market figures, to be able to track their market share and forecast sales," says Keith Warren of the Catering Equipment Suppliers Association (CESA), which runs the CESASTATS service. "These figures are even more important during a recession. How else can you know how well you are doing and if you are holding your own?

"CESASTATS delivers the catering market’s most reliable sales data, giving a real competitive edge and a precise snap shot – not only of the whole market, but also of the two major sectors (heavy equipment and utensils) and the member company’s position within its sector.

"The figures are exclusive – the only way to get the data is to become a member of CESASTATS."

Businesses that join CESASTATS receive quarterly statistics, based on sales figures submitted by member companies to an independent administrator, who holds the data in strictest confidence. Each member receives the same overall market and market sector information, but obviously individual companies are not identified and their own data remains confidential.

Steve Loughton is CEO of Enodis and is firmly committed to CESASTATS. "It’s invaluable, unrivalled and unbeatable," he says. "CESASTATS delivers the most current market information available and is an absolutely vital guide to sales trends that no other source can match. What’s more, it’s easy and inexpensive to participate."

Meanwhile Nick McDonald, Marketing Director at Lincat Ltd, says: "CESASTATS are incredibly useful, especially in these difficult times. Despite the economic turmoil, they give us a real insight into the market."

CESA has opened membership of CESASTATS to any catering equipment supplier, whether or not they are members of the Association. "The more companies that participate, the more accurate the information is," explains Keith Warren.

CESASTATS is a non-profit making organisation and membership costs just £100 + VAT per year. For more information, and a list of current members, visit www.cesa.org.uk

The Catering Equipment Suppliers Association (CESA) represents over 130 companies who supply, service and maintain all types of commercial catering equipment – from utensils to full kitchen schemes. For more information on CESA visit www.cesa.org.uk
