Ultra-slim cabinet for ultra-small kitchens
Williams has expanded its ‘Small Kitchen’ range of slimline refrigeration with the launch of the Jade J300 – with a footprint of just 595mm by 684mm, it’s the company’s slimmest-ever upright cabinet.
As operators go for smaller and smaller kitchens, the demand for compact fridges is increasing rapidly. However, compact doesn’t mean inferior: chefs still need the quality that can cope with pressure, lots of door openings and ambient temperatures up to 43°C. Bridge for Heroes describes Williams freezer as ‘a godsend’
The Bridge for Heroes is a King’s Lynn based charity providing help to serving HM Armed Forces personnel, veterans and their families. The charity offers a wide range of free support, through its single point of access, one stop drop-in facility in South Clough Lane, King’s Lynn.
Recently the charity began running healthy living and cooking workshops, providing food and drink on a daily basis, relying on kitchen equipment donated by volunteers. Then the freezer broke down, which caused a major issue as there was nowhere to store frozen food and it was a struggle to provide a good range of meals with just a fridge. At this point local refrigeration manufacturer Williams came to the rescue by donating a commercial freezer, which Bridge for Heroes has described as ‘a godsend!’ (more…)
British manufacturer also reveals latest ‘small kitchen’ models
Williams will be showing its latest product line at both GulfHost Dubai and Host Milan. The two shows will also see the global launch of an exciting new product – details of which will be unveiled on stand.
GulfHost has taken over from GulFood as the major catering equipment show for the Middle East region and is at the Dubai World Trade Centre, 18th – 20th September 2017. Williams will be on stand SB 39. (more…)

Renowned Michelin starred chef Tom Aikens has just opened his first UK Tom’s Kitchen outside of London, at the ritzy new Mailbox Centre in Birmingham. As with his other Tom’s Kitchen restaurants, the menu is largely based around British classics and comfort food – anything from fish ‘n chips to sausage and mash to steaks, stews and burgers. Coldrooms, blast chillers, counters and uprights set to perform at Belfast’s premier venue
The massive extension to Belfast’s Waterfront Hall has doubled the size of the site’s conference and exhibition facilities. Belfast Council estimates that the new venue will contribute £39m per year to the city’s burgeoning business and tourism market. Catering is a huge operation and the new facilities are designed to be as flexible as possible, so that the caterers can serve multiple functions of 200 to 500 people, or larger events for up to 1500, with the option of buffets, silver service and plated banquets. Based right in the heart of the trendy High Bridge quarter, Pleased To Meet You is one of the jewels in the crown of Newcastle’s culinary scene. Launched originally as a bar offering over fifty varieties of gin, alongside a selection of craft beers, fine wines and cocktails, it has rapidly expanded with a sophisticated cocktail lounge and, most recently, a restaurant. Williams gives winners a little treat
Robert Mitchell, executive chef at Drake & Morgan was the delighted winner of the grand prize in the first #loveyourfridge prize draw organised by Williams Refrigeration.
The draw was open to anyone who contributed pictures or fridge care tips to the #loveyourfridge hashtag on Twitter. Top prize was a sumptuous hamper from Harrods, which included wine, champagne and a selection of luxurious food and confectionary. Three runners-up got a bottle of Taittinger Prestige Rosé Champagne and two champagne glasses each. (more…)
