AFE brands look to grow business in increasingly important and competitive market
Williams has expanded its sales force in the Middle East region by appointing Daniel Hall as the company’s Business Development Manager. Daniel will work alongside the existing four person team based in the AFE offices located in Dubai.
As well as promoting Williams products, Daniel will also support the other AFE leading equipment brands in the region – Falcon prime cooking equipment and Mono bakery equipment (more…)

Airedale Group’s airside kitchen for Delaware North hits the mark, straight off the bat
The Commission is a new 175-seater casual dining and cocktail bar concept created exclusively for Heathrow’s Terminal 4. A Drake & Morgan site, it’s operated by hospitality and foodservice company Delaware North and is open 16 hours a day, from breakfast to late night dinner and snacks. Since it’s ‘airside’, there are lots of restrictions – for example, getting service engineers in for breakdowns takes time. Meanwhile, it’s a high-pressure site with a constant stream of customers who often want to be served quickly. All of which means the catering equipment has to be reliable, efficient and capable of delivering a high performance, which is why The Commission has Williams refrigeration and Falcon cooking appliances.
The kitchen project was managed by the Airedale Group. The airside restrictions were further complicated by build hold ups resulting in Airedale’s window for installing the kitchen being cut from ten days to just three. (more…)

The Renaissance Carambola Beach Resort, St Croix, in the US Virgin Islands (USVI), is a luxury resort in a paradise setting. Guests expect the best and to make sure they get it the hotel recently refurbished the kitchen of its Saman restaurant, which offers a hybrid Italian/Indian à la carte menu. Coldrooms, blast chillers, counters and uprights set to perform at Belfast’s premier venue
The massive extension to Belfast’s Waterfront Hall has doubled the size of the site’s conference and exhibition facilities. Belfast Council estimates that the new venue will contribute £39m per year to the city’s burgeoning business and tourism market. Catering is a huge operation and the new facilities are designed to be as flexible as possible, so that the caterers can serve multiple functions of 200 to 500 people, or larger events for up to 1500, with the option of buffets, silver service and plated banquets. Since first opening back in 1992 wagamama has become one of the UK’s most successful restaurant chains, with over 121 branches in the UK and a growing number of restaurants in other countries too.
Staines is one of the latest towns to get its own wagamama’s, with a new restaurant that’s proving as popular as ever. “We’ve been serving over 3,000 customers a week since opening,” says executive chef Steve Mangleshot, “As you can imagine, it gets pretty busy!” (more…)
Williams adds two models to its ‘top of the range’ refrigeration range
Williams Refrigeration has added two new upright cabinets to its popular Jade range. The J400U and J500U both feature bottom-mounted refrigeration systems and increase the ‘Jade choice’ by offering new storage capacities of 410 and 523 litres respectively (the established J1 has a capacity of 620 litres). Both are available in chilled and frozen storage versions.
“The Jade is our most popular range of products,” says Martin Laws, marketing manager at Williams.
“The new models mean we can offer a much wider choice of cabinet sizes, allowing customers to choose the model that best fits their kitchen space. The new sizes have been developed in direct response to customer demand.” (more…)
