If you’re lucky enough to be in Bridge of Allan, Stirling, then the place to go is Jam Jar. This contemporary café restaurant, open from 8am till 10pm, is, in the words of head chef Izzy Kerr, “really, really busy.” They serve up to 2,500 covers a week and Izzy describes the food as “modern British bistro,” but there are distinctive and popular flourishes. For example, Jam Jar’s latest version of a steak sandwichis based on braised beef brisket cooked in its own liquor, and it goes down a storm.
As this is Stirling it’s also Falcon Foodservice Equipment country, which is lucky since Izzy is a big fan of the British manufacturer. When the company was developing its F900 Series Izzy was delighted to be asked to field trial several of the new appliances – especially as Jam Jar was in the process of a kitchen refurbishment. UK distributors vote Falcon their favourite heavy equipment supplier
Falcon has won Catering Insight’s Heavy Equipment Supplier of the Year award for 2015. The award is voted for by distributors and reflects the high regard in which Falcon is held by its business partners across the UK.

At the 2015 Master Chefs of Great Britain lunch, held on 19 October at Prestonfield House in Edinburgh, the Association awarded a Peter Jukes Memorial Fellowship to Neil Roseweir, development chef at Falcon Foodservice Equipment.
Peter Jukes Memorial Fellowships are rarely awarded, and when they are, they tend to go to restaurant chefs. Judges said: “This award is given to chefs who have demonstrated their ability to remain at the very top of their profession, whether that be in the restaurant world or the hospitality industry as a whole.” (more…)
Latest Falcon Range combines great looks with rugged construction and superior performance
Falcon’s latest product offering is the gas-powered F900 four burner Range. Part of the new F900 series, and available with a choice of burner sizes, it combines rugged performance with good looks, making it ideal for busy catering kitchens, whether back or front of house.
The standard unit’s hob has four 9.5kW twin flame burners, ensuring fast heat up times. Falcon also offers 4.2kW burners as an alternative.
