Caffeine launches flavours bolt-on to top of the range bean-to-cup espresso system
One issue with bean-to-cup machines is that while the best ones can produce a great coffee, their menus can be restricted. Now coffee machine specialist Caffeine Limited has launched a bolt-on to its top of the range Coffee Art Plus system that allows the unit to make not just a full range of espresso-based beverages but also flavoured coffees, with a choice of four different flavours, all at the touch of a button.
Caffeine Limited has joined CaterQuotes. The move means that the company’s full range of coffee machines, including the Gaggia and Schaerer brands, is available for distributors, designers and specifiers to download and integrate into projects and quotes.
The Caffeine portfolio gives CaterQuotes users a comprehensive choice of coffee machines, from traditional espresso models with compact footprints right up to modular bean-to-cup systems that can produce a huge range of beverages, both hot and cold.
Latest Schaerer bean-to-cup machine from Caffeine can adapt as business grows
Caffeine says the latest Coffee Prime espresso machine is aimed at both coffee connoisseurs and accountants. Manufactured in Switzerland by market-leading bean-to-cup specialist Schaerer, it produces gourmet beverages at the press of a button. However, it also saves costs and cuts down on energy consumption. It can make up to 100 espressos or 70 cappuccinos per hour and is aimed at a range of sectors, including staff catering, conference and meeting rooms, directors’ dining, restaurants and hotels.
A key feature of the Coffee Prime is its ability to be adapted, with the addition of ancillary equipment, as a site’s needs change. Larger bean hoppers and a powder system with large container can be added at a later date. Optional accessories include a fresh milk system, two bean grinders, and a cup dispenser module.

Coffee ‘100% important’ for Magdalen Arms
Praised Oxford gastro pub goes for Gaggia traditional espresso machine
Florence Fowler and her partner chef Tony Abarno have transformed the Magdalen Arms in Oxford from a rundown boozer to a hugely popular pub eatery which regularly wins plaudits from the critics. The ratio of food to wet sales is about 70:30 and coffee is a key component of their success. “Coffee is 100% important for us – you can’t finish off a great meal with a rubbish cup of coffee,” says Florence Fowler.
The coffee machine she chose was a Gaggia GD, a traditional, professional automatic espresso unit with modern features and designer lines. “That’s my baby – I love it to pieces,” she says. “It’s red and has a real 1950’s look, which ties in with our shabby chic, Parisian brasserie ambience. But it’s also very modern and, of course, it makes great coffee.” (more…)
New cafe’s espresso machine has customers talking about bespoke paint job
Ivica Pendaroski (Ivan to his customers) describes his new business, Fresh, as “a local, casual cafe and lunch place with a deli, offering nice, freshly prepared food at reasonable prices.” It’s been a big hit with the locals which, since it’s in London’s busy Twickenham, is no mean feat. As a big coffee fan, Ivan was determined to offer the best and specified a Gaggia espresso machine. A green one.
“The green colour was to tie in with the decor,” he says. “There is a whole lot of competition around here – Twickenham seems to be where cafe culture is at, so we decided to offer something different. We aim to give customers a smart, fresh and relaxed environment, quality food and drink, and decent prices.” (more…)
