CESA unveils 2015 Conference Programme

The event is organised in association with FCSI, BHA, CEDABOND and ENSE and is open to all those working in the foodservice industry.

A dynamic speaker platform boasts broadcaster Evan Davis, who is this year’s Conference Chair. His insights into the economy are sure to go down well with delegates, while his experiences in Dragons’ Den should prepare him for any awkward questions.

CESA will be promoting CESABIM at Hotelympia 2014As the sponsor for catering equipment at Hotelympia, CESA will be promoting three exciting new initiatives at the 2014 event: CESABIM, the TRI Education scheme, and the Priority Visitor Programme.

Catering equipment associations collaborate on a range of industry projects

CESA's Nick Oryino, left, and Jack Sharkey of CEDAThe two leading trade associations representing catering equipment manufacturers and distributors have announced plans to work more closely together.  Catering equipment manufacturers are represented by CESA, the Catering Equipment Suppliers Association, and distributors by CEDA, the Catering Equipment Distributors Association.  The organisations have met regularly over many years but there is now more opportunity to work collaboratively on key issues. This will bring an increased chance of successful outcomes that will benefit the whole industry.


Sustainability IS Sustainable

CESA research highlights positive attitude to sustainability and a desire for common energy rating standard for catering equipment

Catering suppliers believe that sustainability will deliver a major boost to business in the next three years, according to research conducted by CESA, the Catering Equipment Suppliers Association. However, there is a growing need for a common standard to benchmark energy savings, to make it easier for end users to understand the benefits.

Industry Focuses on Sustainability, Employment & Innovation

Tanya Beckett at the CESA 2012 Conference in association with the FCSI and BHAThis year’s conference, held at Whittlebury Hall near Towcester, had a theme of ‘A Platform for Growth.’  As well as enjoying a high quality speaker platform, several delegates took advantage of local amenities including golf at Whittlebury Hall itself and rallying at nearby Silverstone.  The conference was rounded off at the Gala Dinner in the Brooklands Suite on the Friday night.

The theme of this year’s CESA conference is A Platform for Growth. The economic situation is a curate’s egg for many caterers and suppliers: good in parts.  On the one hand, for many businesses the recession, though painful, has made less impact than expected, with the London Games playing a part.  On the other, public sector cuts and slow growth figures, not to mention worries about the EU, mean that the future is uncertain.
