Swims like a bee …

Cosy jumpers for chickens

At first I thought it might be April 1st when I spotted this on the BBC News website, but it appears to be serious. Jane, Blaine, of Eynsham, knits jumpers for battery hens that have lost their feathers and might otherwise be feeling the cold. They look quite smart really!

Summer time is salad time. Freshly prepared salads are an excellent way of offering customers light and healthy options. They look attractive and colourful and form a versatile side serving for a host of dishes. However they do need to be crisp and have that ‘just cut’ look. A limp salad is not acceptable nowadays.

  An American tourist (looks like) had a simple and brilliant idea – put a video camera on a sushi restaurant conveyor and record a slice of Japanese social life.  That’s seven minutes thirty nine seconds of my own life I can’t get back.  But, fascinating!
