Apuro offers quick-cook package to offices and small factories
Working lifestyles are changing with people increasingly working longer hours, ‘hot-desking’, being more diet conscious and wanting to snack at odd times of the day or night. Many workplaces are finding there is a call to offer quick-cook facilities to staff 24/7.

Apuro, a specialist distributor for some of the biggest brands in the UK hospitality market, has selected a package of products that are especially suitable for this type of quick-cook environment including Samsung push-button microwaves, Acis water coolers, Acis water boilers and the Whirlpool mini-kitchen.

For smaller workplaces, where it is not feasible to have a canteen, this means anyone can heat up or quick-cook pre-prepared meals and soups whenever they are hungry. MICROWAVES
Samsung’s light and medium duty microwaves are ideal for this type of quick-cook environment. Their programmable touch control panels have been designed for ease of use and their stainless steel outer casing is easy to wipe clean.
The light duty CM1069 has five power levels with a maximum power level of 1100 Watts, and a 26 litre capacity. Where heavier usage is anticipated Apuro recommends the more powerful 1300 Watt CM1329 microwave to speed up cooking times.

WATER BOILERS
A constant supply of piping hot water is essential for tea and coffee making facilities and for adding to pots of instant noodles, pasta and rice. Ideal for all locations with mains water supply is the Acis Auto-Fill boiler. With a 13 litre immediate draw-off capacity, this electronically controlled boiler offers excellent performance, providing up to 156 cups of hour water per hour. Even simpler to operate is the auto-fill AWH-15 Push Button model with a 5.4 litre immediate draw off capacity. This compact model produces 133 cups per hour and can hold up to 40cl (14oz) ‘to go’ cups.

WATER COOLERS
No workplace self-catering facility is complete without an efficient water cooler. A regular intake of water improves performance, prevents headaches and contributes to general well-being. Apuro’s Acis 800 Series of Direct Chill water coolers offers a continuous supply of chilled, filtered mains water so can staff have access to fresh drinking water at all times.

The temperature of the chilled water depends on the temperature of the mains water. In normal circumstances the ACIS system dispenses water at around 4 degrees C. Standard features include large push-button dispense controls and an integral pop-up cup dispenser.

Apuro has upgraded its Mini Kitchen ‘all-in-one’ system from Whirlpool to include CFC-free refrigeration, low energy consumption and low noise levels.

Designed for semi-domestic situations that require the essential equipment for basic cooking, the Mini-Kitchen is a complete and compact kitchen unit featuring cooking rings, fridge, kitchen sink and undersink storage in a single, discreet and easy to install unit.

It’s a simple, low cost and quick-fit facility. Popular applications include student accommodation, studio flats, offices, exhibitions stands, storage areas in show flat developments, nursing home staff rooms, or anywhere requiring low-volume catering and easy, fast installation.

SAMSUNG WINE COOLER

Apuro’s wine cooler cabinet from Samsung focuses on elegant design in ‘front of house’ situations. It is a compact model in an extremely attractive cabinet.

The Samsung RW13EBSS has a fully electronic temperature control adjustable between +4C and +18C, allowing users to select the perfect storage temperature for their wine. The cabinet also features a digital display and levelling legs.

The defining feature that really sets the Samsung wine cooler apart is its elegant appearance. The unit has a ‘bow-fronted’ glass door, which also features a recessed handle, a lock and brushed satin steel trim. ACIS WATER COOLERS MOVE INTO EUROPE

Apuro is launching its ACIS range of water coolers into Europe and is actively seeking distributors. "We’ve successfully established the ACIS brand in the UK market," says European sales manager Nigel Elwick. "This is a natural progression for the range. Early indications suggest the technology used in developing our latest models, notably the DC (direct chill) units, will help us open up the continental market."

Apuro’s ACIS 800 Series of direct chill units offers a continuous supply of chilled, filtered mains water, using a refrigerated coil to chill incoming water directly instead of chilling water held in a reservoir tank. "The models are stylish and practical," says Elwick. "They are perfect in situations where a traditional tank-model can’t cope, such as in colleges where there are peaks of demand between classes."

Special deals on floor standing ACIS models

The price promotion that Apuro has been running on the ACIS 700 Series of floor standing bottle coolers is due to finish at the end of April - so there’s still time to bag a bargain.

The special deals mean that dealers can get large discounts off the standard trade price of the bottle coolers. The Apuro stand, acting as a ‘virtual’ shop front for all its products, is packed with brochures and graphic displays to illustrate specifications, suggest usage and offer helpful advice. Apuro representatives are on hand to explain to visitors exactly what Apuro has to offer and guide them through the various options available.

Friul Co Juice Extractors
These juice extractors will be especially popular with anyone wanting to prepare 100 per cent pure fruit or vegetable juices for use in smoothies, cocktails, sauces or cold soups. There are two models in the range, both with a double shredder disc and anodised aluminium casting. The larger Alpha model has a 750W motor and is designed for continuous working with automatic separation of the peels during operation.

Acis Water Boilers
Boiling water is a pre-requisite for catering services. Apuro now supplies three different types of Acis water boilers including traditional polished stainless steel ‘urn’ types with thermostatic controls, automatic safety cut-outs and capacities between 10 to 27 litres that are ideal for outdoor catering and occasional use.

ITV Ice Machines and Ital Blast Chillers
On the cold front Apuro is highlighting its ITV Ice Makers with ice production rates from 22 to 133 kg per 24 hour period and storage capacities ranging from 6 to 55kg. Apuro will also launch the latest addition to its range of Ital Blast Chillers - the Marmolada. The new Marmolada has a capacity of 150 litres and can blast chill 18kg of food to +3 degrees C in 90 minutes and freeze 9kg to -18 degrees C in 240minutes. There are now five blast chillers in the range, with capacities ranging from an ultra-compact 29 litre model to the largest 282 litre model. Apuro’s new Friul juice extractors make short work of juicing fruit.

Health guidelines suggest five portions of fruit or veg every day to protect against a variety of diseases. An easy way for cafes and snack bars to encourage healthy eating and capture the health market is to offer pure fruit or vegetable juice as a menu option. As well as being a premium product, freshly prepared juice is a particularly good source of vitamins and minerals, and also a great way of replenishing lost fluids in the body.

Apuro’s new Friul juice extractors are excellent at preparing any pure fruit or vegetable juices for drinks or as a base for cocktails or cold soups. There are two models of Friul juice extractors available from Apuro. Both are designed for the continuous production of fresh, tasty juice and are fitted with 13 Amp plugs making it simple to get started juicing.

The Iota is small and strong with a 400 Watt motor making it one of the most functional and efficient models on the market. This juicer has an exceptionally fast action - it works at 15,000 rpm to extract the juice from the pulp quickly and cleanly. It can process 150kg of fruit or vegetables per hour with a typical yield of 60 - 75%.

The larger Alpha has a 750 Watt motor, producing up to 6,000 rpm, with controlled acceleration and deceleration. It is extremely quiet in operation and can process over 220kg of fruit or vegetables per hour, with a typical yield of 65 to 75%.

In both models the circular feed chamber is fitted centrally over the blade, which means there is no uneven pressure on the heavy-duty motor bearings, giving a longer and maintenance-free life. The housing is from cast anodised aluminium with a wipe-clean satin finish.

Both have a double shredder disc for maximum efficiency and a food pusher to hold the food in place and prevent slipping. For ease of use there is a safety closing system with integral cut-out.

Apuro launches heated pizza displays

Apuro’s Ital heated pizza displays

New from Apuro are the 1000 Watt Ital Vetrinetta counter-top pizza displays. These stylish stainless steel and glass heated cupboards have three round gridded shelves to keep pizzas in top condition. Thermostatic controls maintain the pizza temperature accurately at any desired setting up to 90 degrees C, evenly throughout the cupboards.

There are two sizes available - a smaller 465 x 430 x 600mm that takes standard size pizzas and a larger version measuring 560 x 500 x 610mm for huge pizzas. Prices are £765 and £845 ex VAT respectively. Both are supplied with a one year parts and labour guarantee.

The UK is apparently the largest fast-food and take-way market in Europe. It’s double the size of the German market and three times that of the French. Pizza sales account for at least 10 per cent of this market sector and are still on the increase. And now perfect pizza is no longer the domain of specialist pizza restaurants with large ovens.

The latest Whirlpool electric SmartCook Pizza Oven from Apuro is small enough to stand on a worktop but makes a generous 34cm diameter pizza that looks and tastes as if it’s been cooked in a wood-fired oven.

Lower prices on ACIS bottle coolers

Apuro currently has some great deals on its ACIS range of floor standing bottle coolers. “We’ve been able to negotiate temporary lower prices with our manufacturer, which we’re passing on to customers,” says Nigel Elwick of Apuro. “Sadly the special deals are only available on the models we have in stock - once they’re gone, they’re gone.”

Sam4s electronic cash registers and counters from Apuro

Apuro supplies the Sam4s range of operator friendly electronic cash registers. It includes budget-priced models for use in small, independent snack and sandwich bar locations as well as high performance models designed for larger hospitality operations.

Altogether there are eight models in the range, all with a smart white top and grey metal drawer. Even the lowest priced ER150 (£169 ex VAT) provides a complete analysis of department sales as well as function total and actual drawer totals. It also produces a printed customer receipt or a journal tape.

The mid-range ER 380 (£339 ex VAT) has eight departments and 300 PLUs (price look ups) making it ideal for fast food outlets and busy snack and sandwich bars.
