Utopia tableware: as seen on Corrie

Coronation Street’s Viaduct Bistro gets a style upgrade with Utopia tableware

The Viaduct Bistro is probably one of the most famous in the UK.  And though millions get to see it, few actually eat there, since it’s on Coronation Street.  However, while it’s fictional you better believe it has to be just like the real thing, so when the makers decided to upgrade the Bistro they wanted tableware and barware that was stylish, top quality and genuinely hospitality-industry grade.  So who you gonna call?  Utopia, the UK’s largest supplier of tableware for the HoReCa market.

“The people at Corrie were a pleasure to deal with,” says Josh Rammell, marketing manager at Utopia.  “They had researched the market and knew what they were looking for.  I’ve got to say, we’re all chuffed to bits to see our products getting used by the stars!”

Given the current fashion for cocktails, it’s no surprise that the Bistro took two glassware designs.  Big Top from Nude features ultra-stylish ribbed glasses with heavy bases.  From the glamorous Hayworth collection the Bistro took flute, martini and cocktail glasses.

For the tableware they chose an original design that’s very much on trend.  The Raw White collection features high-sided coupe plates with contrasting colours and textures, a white gloss with a raw finish, adding warmth and depth to the table.

”The products chosen are perfect for this environment, laid back but with style and quality,” says Josh. “The Raw collection’s gloss pairs well with a variety of dishes and the unfinished look on the outside blends with the Viaduct Bistro’s decor. Hayworth’s optical design means it catches the eye while also blending into a fast-paced environment.”
