Induction banker wins Product Excellence Award
FEM’s Mirage Warmer from Vollrath offers stylish buffet solution
Bankers aren’t universally popular, but now one has won a prestigious Caterer Product Excellence Award. FEM’s sleek, black induction buffet warmer unit offers a solution for caterers looking for safe ways to keep food warm throughout service. It’s efficient, looks good and runs off a standard plug – even better, up to three units can be banked together, running from the same 13 amp supply, to offer a stylish hot buffet service.
FEM (Foodservice Equipment marketing) is based in East Kilbride. The company is a leading supplier of commercial catering equipment.
The Mirage Warmers, manufactured by Vollrath and marketed in the UK by FEM, have four power levels – low, medium, high and chafer preheat – which are selected using easy-to-use touch controls. Judges were also impressed by the safety features including over-heat protection, small-article detection, pan auto-detection and empty-pan shut-off.
“Induction is starting to be used for all sorts of different tasks,” says Mark Hogan of FEM. “The technology’s energy saving, safety, speed and accurate temperature control make it ideal for this type of buffet application. We’re delighted to have won this prestigious award.”
The Caterer Product Excellence Awards were announced at a ceremony at Westminster Kingsway College, London, on December 1st 2016. The awards are judged by leading suppliers and foodservice operators.
